The Role We are seeking an innovative and detail-oriented Librarian to join our dynamic MLC Libraries team. In this role, you will lead the management and development of library technologies, systems, and online resources, ensuring MLC remains at the forefront of library innovation.
The Librarian also provides high-level reference and information services, supports staff and students in their use of digital tools, and collaborates with Teacher Librarians to integrate technologies into teaching and learning. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the delivery of world-class library services in a progressive and future-focused school environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the implementation and management of library technologies and online resources
- Oversee library systems, including WorldShare Library Management System and WorldCat Discovery
- Manage the MLC Libraries’ website and ensure accessibility for all users
- Provide expert reference and research services to staff and students
- Collaborate with Teacher Librarians to support curriculum delivery through digital tools
- Contribute to budgeting, project management, and the continuous improvement of library services

Essential:
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in library/information sciences (ALIA Associate level eligibility)
- Experience providing information and reference services
- Strong knowledge of automated library systems, databases, and online resources
- Excellent project management and organisational skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams
- Commitment to child safety and wellbeing
- Current Working with Children Check
Desirable:
- Experience with WorldShare LMS and website management (LibGuides/SharePoint)
- Experience implementing digital technologies in libraries
- Knowledge of emerging technologies and their application in education
