Continuing our tradition of excellence in girls’ education, Melbourne Girls Grammar empowers students with the literacy skills to thrive and lead in an ever-changing digital world. We are seeking a knowledgeable, proactive, and collaborative Library Technician to join our Learning Technologies Department (Library Services Team) in the Nina Crone Library. 

 

About the Library Technician role:

  • Ongoing, permanent
  • Fulltime (1.00FTE)
  • Based at our Anderson Street campus, South Yarra   
  • Position available immediately, or by negotiation.  

This role plays a key part in maintaining high-quality library resources and creating a welcoming, dynamic environment that encourages students and staff to engage with our programs and spaces. Graduating and early career Library Technicians are encouraged to apply. 

 

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administering and managing the Library Management System and its online interface 
  • Cataloguing print and digital collections 
  • Assisting with management of collections including tagging, covering, repairing, shelving, stocktake and weeding 
  • Circulation Desk duties including attending to loans, reservations, records and queries 
  • Preparation of physical and virtual displays 
  • General administrative tasks – View the Position Description for details about the role.

  • Excellent ICT skills 
  • Warm and approachable manner 
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal 
  • High attention to detail and ability to process significant volumes of work 
  • Readiness to learn new skills and be mentored 
  • A valid employee working with children check.
