Continuing our tradition of excellence in girls’ education, Melbourne Girls Grammar empowers students with the literacy skills to thrive and lead in an ever-changing digital world. We are seeking a knowledgeable, proactive, and collaborative Library Technician to join our Learning Technologies Department (Library Services Team) in the Nina Crone Library.
About the Library Technician role:
This role plays a key part in maintaining high-quality library resources and creating a welcoming, dynamic environment that encourages students and staff to engage with our programs and spaces. Graduating and early career Library Technicians are encouraged to apply.
This is an ongoing part-time role, working three days per week on the following roster:
Monday: 8:00am – 4:00pm, Tuesday: 10:00am – 6:00pm, Wednesday: 10:00am – 6:00pm
Key Responsibilities:
- Administering and managing the Library Management System and its online interface
- Cataloguing print and digital collections
- Assisting with management of collections including tagging, covering, repairing, shelving, stocktake and weeding
- Circulation Desk duties including attending to loans, reservations, records and queries
- Preparation of physical and virtual displays

- Excellent ICT skills
- Warm and approachable manner
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
- High attention to detail and ability to process significant volumes of work
- Readiness to learn new skills and be mentored
- A valid employee working with children check.
