We’re seeking an engaging and collaborative Teacher Librarian to join our Senior School Library
Services team. This role offers the opportunity to inspire a love of reading, lead information literacy
initiatives and partner with teaching staff to deliver rich, research-driven learning experiences.
About The Role
We invite applications from inspired and proactive Teacher Librarians. This is an ongoing, full-time
position commencing as soon as practicable, by negotiation.
Reporting to the Head of Senior School Library Services, the successful candidate will contribute to
the delivery of high-quality teaching and learning across Years 7–12 while supporting the library as a
hub for independent and collaborative learning.
You will work closely with teaching staff to design and deliver research-based learning experiences,
promote literacy in all its forms, and cultivate a culture of curiosity and lifelong learning. The role
also involves developing and maintaining a contemporary, relevant library collection and
contributing to policy development and library service innovation.
Key Responsibilities
Collaborate with teaching staff to plan and deliver research-based units of work
Promote literacy, including information and digital literacy, across the school
Foster a love of reading and inquiry among students and staff
Create an engaging and inclusive library environment
Develop and maintain a relevant and accessible collection of resources
Contribute to library policy development and strategic initiatives
Support students’ academic and pastoral development
Qualifications and Requirements
Relevant teaching qualifications and current registration with the Victorian Institute of
Teaching (VIT)
Qualifications in teacher librarianship (recognised by ALIA)
Demonstrated experience in secondary education (Years 7–12)
Strong understanding of contemporary curriculum and research practices
Excellent skills in the use of learning technologies and digital resources
Highly developed research and information management skills
Ability to collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary teams
First Aid and Anaphylaxis certification (or willingness to obtain)

they have a well-rounded school experience encompassing curriculum, co-curricular and pastoral
care in addition to participating in our sporting program through coaching and managing sport
teams.
