Casual Library Technician

Library Technician - Casual – F/T or P/T Monday -Friday for the remainder of
Term 2.

Rosehill Secondary College is a single campus, co-educational government
school with approximately, 1,174 students.

Position Description

Provide a welcoming and safe environment for a wide range of students from all year
levels.

• Experience with Library Management Systems, in particular Oliver.
• Circulation and Reference duty
• Computer skills – Microsoft office
• Work with students from year 7 to 12 and provide assistance as necessary to individuals or small groups.
• Provide assistance with resource platforms, Newsbank, Worldbook Online
• Manage Overdue notifications.
• Shelving and weeding.

Cataloguing

Catalogue library resources and equipment onto Oliver system
Ability to perform manual and automated SCIS cataloguing procedures.
Ability to manipulate bibliographic data in line with the library’s preferred cataloguing
method.

Processing
Label, cover, sort, and mark resources in accordance with library procedures
Laminating
Promote the library and its services.
Make library facilities and services available to the whole school community.
Displays
Identify resources that are not being borrowed and find ways to promote their use.
